Katabatic was started in December of 2005 between Sean "Worthy" Williams and Justin Martin in San Francisco, and
toasted with a fine glass of semi-cold beer to start the label off. The name for the label was discovered by Worthy while reading the book "Deception Point" in December 2004. Originally it was thought that he would use the name for a future mix. However, when he started toying with the idea of starting a label he decided to use it for this purpose instead. Definition: katabatic wind - [noun] a wind caused by the downward motion of cold air. Here is a really bad graphic of what a Katabatic Wind looks like. If you are lucky and you are playing Jeopardy one day this could be a question. So dont forget Katabatic.
